A♠

This drawing formed randomly as do most of my drawings. Being on post its allows for the image to expand as it needs to. The relationship with the title are random acts at the time of publishing the blog. I then attempt to tie the actions together. Sometimes I rely on traditional methods of information wrangling to help organize my seemingly random expressions. I do believe that our cognitive processes act on different levels. You could call it a higher self, but that would imply a hierarchy, and at this density of information organization it has been my experience that hierarchies are an unnecessary act of housekeeping and frankly counter productive. Perhaps the different signatures of thought are just the same impulses through different fields or mediums.
The title was inspired by the inside of a Pabst Blue Ribbon bottle cap of a beer I was drinking last night. Most playing cards correspond to cards in the Tarot. The ace of spades is the ace of swords. A♠-Identify longterm goals. If that card appears next to the Hierophant it is meant to consolidate your energy. At this time I have no idea what this means outside of a general lack of focus. I have been listening lately to podcasts given by an online Gnostic organization. I was originally attracted to it because of its syncretic nature, the way they tie different schools of thought together. In these peoples presentation of Gnosticism the Tarot corresponds to elements of Judaism. The 5th letter of the hebrew alphabet Hei is related to the idea of the Hierophant. Not sure how I feel about the dualistic...good and evil aspects to Gnosis, but some of its stories I find very useful. Hierophant. Balance over the great mysteries. Light and Day. Anubis. His finger on a scale. I think Anubis is the jackal that weighs your soul against a feather. When I allow myself physical indulgence...kind of like that Bright Eyes song, supplies are endless in the evening by the morning they are gone. So light in the night a thousand pounds by daylight. Curious that the figure has a canine face. Dog stars dog day afternoon, late August. Paw Bearer, friend is given 48 hours to live, unrelated friend randomly tags me as an undertaker. Ace of Spades put on viet cong casualties in Vietnam war by American forces. The figures tail makes a spade. Saddam Hussein got the nickname "Ace of Spades" as his was the face which adorned that card.

now for something completely different...Ethylene is the most produced organic compound in the world-The Delphic Oracle is one of the earliest stories in classical antiquity of prophetic abilities. The Pythia, the priestess presiding over the Oracle of Apollo at Delphi, was believed to be able to deliver prophecies inspired by Apollo during rituals beginning in the 8th century BC.[11] It is often said that the Pythia delivered oracles in a frenzied state induced by vapors rising from the ground, and that she spoke gibberish, believed to be the voice of Apollo, which priests reshaped into the enigmatic prophecies preserved in Greek literature. Other scholars believe records from the time indicate that the Pythia spoke intelligibly, and gave prophecies in her own voice.[12] The Pythia was a position served by a succession of women probably selected from amongst a guild of priestesses of the temple. The last recorded response was given in 393 AD, when the emperor Theodosius I ordered pagan temples to cease operation. Recent geological investigations raise the possibility that ethylene gas caused the Pythia's state of inspiration.-
