I was reading a thread about Socialism, Natzism, Anarchy, Henry Ford building roads, 1911 rice riots in Japan, The "game" of Monopoly and secret Mormon underwear and rewriting history through the eyes of the Austrian identity retoric schools. Then I found a video of Conan O'Brian talking to the Google folks about writing for the character of Mr. Burns. I thought it was interesting how Mr. Burns the ancient energy tycoon was basicly the god Saturn eating his own children and about how an old ritch guy can be so entertaining to a primarily young audience. (The second place winner for the 2010 Utrecht national art competition has a version of this scenario done with a mechanical pencil)-. In Richard K. Morgan’s novel, Altered Carbon a science fiction story about bottling your soul, the rich and powerful are called Meths, in reference to Methuselah, the Old Testament 969 year old patriarch.

and i just watched a program about good ole Santa Claus being derived from Saturn.....the whole Saturnalia thing.....soooooo interesting.....then he evolved into a dude who'd cut kids' throats to ensure a good harvest....so this sickle type thing became the staff that the Euro version of St Nick carries...
