pure air
Giordano Bruno held the assumption that the universe was homogeneous. That the stars were not composed of a separate quintessence. The idea that the physical universe could be infinite, stable and ever present did not sit well with "inquiring" minds of the time. Kind of interesting how humans can understand this in contemporary terms and yet that idea of infinity unbridled can cause so much consternation. If anything is infinite it is the impulse of mind to create itself. If there is a logos it is great and old and infantile all at once.
