Peep

My cousin gave me a clay pipe some twenty years ago. He had found the pipe in a mud pit formed from San Francisco Bay dredge waste. On a recent trip to NY City I saw an old painting of a couple of guys smoking from these pipes. The pipes were ment to be disposable according to my cousin. I think they were made of kaolin clay.
Smoking is also a more emblematic subject. A pipe smoker stands for somebody who enjoys life, but also indicates a person free of rules. Finally, the pipe directs to the temporary aspect of life.
