Pittsburg Persimmons

They make golf clubs and corbread knives out of persimmon wood. There is a persimmon as old or older than I am on the property where I grew up as a kid. I told my mother, of a recent visit to the old home front, and how the colder winter made the persimmons bust out on every limb. She said the guy who had grafted that tree was long past away, and that somebody approached her to make golf clubs from the wood at some point.
