Take me internally

I saw a documenteary recently about the synth pop movement in Britain, during the late 70 and 80s. Of the many influences on music at that time mentioned in the footage was the plague pits, an area of dystopian flair outside of central London. When the amount of dying plague victims out paced the ability of the local parishes to give the victims a proper burial, they began putting the bodies in mass graves. These areas were also the location of experimental living arraignments similar to the ones the members of Throbbing Gristle were fond of. This lingering disaffected art movement swelled to include a fantastical if not noir faction of musical tastes pulling on Gothic tropes and memes. Hense the term Goth when refering to this type of music.

Nocturnal Me

In an ice-capped fire
Of burning wood
In our world of wire
Ignite our dreams of starry skies
And you and me
As realised our bigger themes

Oh, take me internally
Forever yours
Nocturnal me
Take me internally
Forever yours
Nocturnal me

Do or die
What's done is done
True beauty lies
On the blue horizon

Who or why
What's one is one
In pure disguise
Of vulgar sons

Oh, take me internally
Forever yours
Nocturnal me
Take me internally
Forever yours
Nocturnal me

Whatever burns burns eternally
So take me in turns internally
When I'm on fire
My body will be
Forever yours
Nocturnal me

In an ice-capped fire
Of burning wood
In our world of wire
Ignite our dreams of starry skies
And you and me
As realised our bigger themes

Oh, take me internally
Forever yours
Nocturnal me
Take me internally
Forever yours
Nocturnal me
