In A Mine
While walking around Lake Maria Sanchez a few weeks ago I found a stained glass lamp shade in the trash . It has a few broken panes. Beth bought a base for it. The pattern that wraps around it is incomplete. It reminds me of the way patterns found in Persian rugs just stop on one end or the other. I always thought that patterns were the equivalent of cable TV for Victorians. Pictures I have seen of typical Victorian parlors show a room full of furniture and nick knacks. The furnishings inside are heavy with carvings; cabrioled vernacular; phrase after phrase of dove tailed chit chat and hand woven fugues of distracting syntax.
